The aim of this initiative by the Commission is to cultivate a robust pool of skilled privacy professionals, in line with the Pillar 2 (Human Capital Development) of the Nigeria Data Protection Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (NDP-SRAP) 2023-2027 and strategic vision of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, to foster the creation of 2 million jobs in the digital economy sector. This initiative is designed to address the growing demand for data protection and privacy professionals, equipping them with the necessary skills to thrive in the ever-evolving digital landscape.
Programme Requirements
1. Educational Background: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related fields such as Law, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or Business Administration. Alternatively, relevant certifications in data protection, cybersecurity, or IT governance (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, ISO 27001, or equivalent).
2. Motivation and Interest: A demonstrated interest in advancing the field of data protection and privacy through publications, workshops, or seminars. A personal statement or cover letter explaining the reason for participation and how the certification or examination will enhance your career or organisation.
3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in digital technologies and platforms.
